This year’s Art at the Riverside takes place Saturday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Riverside Gardens in Leo-Cedarville.

Forty-six artists have been chosen to take part in the seventh annual juried exhibition showcasing art from a variety of mediums. In addition, there will be several local music performers on hand with Joe Justice headlining the entertainment for the day, playing classics from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s as well as some current hits you may recognize.

Several plein artists — artists who leave the studio behind in order to be immersed in the landscape in order to paint and draw it the way they see it — will be on hand creating pieces in the park throughout the day. The artists will provide a chance for attendees to get a first-hand experience of the creation of their art while some will be available for questions and answers during the process.

In addition, a special opportunity will be provided for the younger artist’s amongst us to show off and sell their art in the children’s activity area.

Few events are complete without the addition of some of our favorite local food vendors. Hall’s, Isobel’s Taco, Summit City Popcorn, Whip & Chill, and Brainfreeze will all be on hand to help relieve those hunger pains while Mad Anthony Brewing Company will provide the opportunity to purchase alcohol and locally brewed beer.
