Fresh off a New Year’s Eve performance at Mitchell’s Sports Bar, The Y’s Guys are now faced with the daunting task of finding a new drummer. Jason Newcomer chose to resign to pursue other opportunities. According to a band statement, “We support him 100 percent in his decision to move forward and pursue other life goals. Jason was an original member of the band when it was a trio, and has been our rock throughout the last three years. We have tons of memories that each one of us will cherish and look back on for the rest of our lives.” Make sure to keep your eyes peeled as the band will be introducing Newcomer’s replacement in the near future. By the way it looks, it had better be soon since they are scheduled to perform at The Venue (Angola) on Saturday, Jan. 16. Whatzup will keep you posted. BaderTscher the key for Whoa, Man!Speaking of new members, Whoa, Man! is excited to welcome the talented Karis Badertscher to the family. You may know her from her keytar action and backing vocals with her other outfit Kaitlyn Schmit and The Move, where she will remain a member. In any event, Badertscher will be a great addition to Whoa, Man! which hopefully we’ll get the opportunity to see soon. Flaw in the plansThe new Rockstar Lounge will be opening its doors to the nu metal act Flaw on Saturday, Jan. 16, at 7:30 p.m. The Louisville, Ky., road warriors have made a few stops to the Summit City over the years, each time delivering their hard and heavy sound perfect for a good headbang. Vocalist Chris Volz has kept the band alive throughout their duration despite numerous lineup changes and record label challenges. Flaw are out in support of Vol. IV: Because of the Brave released last year. Tickets for the show are available via TicketWeb. Identity Unknown will open the show, so get to the show in plenty of time. Calder Quintet Releases SingleCalder the Band is kicking off 2021 with a new single, “Canon in D.” This is the first recording to feature all members of the current quintet. A quick listen and you will see these cats are at the top of their game and a force to be reckoned with in 2021. You can find “Canon in D” on all major streaming platforms.
