However, they won’t be rushing into normalcy as they plan to do things as safely as they can with half capacity, required masks, and social distancing. By now, we all know the drill.

In addition, they will have limited days and hours, so make sure you check before you head down. As of press time, the Rail has no entertainment booked, but I’m sure that will come in time. The main thing is, they’re back in business!

Comedy at Three Rivers Distilling

The fine folks at Three Rivers Distilling Company are making sure we’re getting our proper dose of laughter with a special comedy show on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. Headlining the event will be Joe Bates, a writer for the Bob & Tom Show who is occasionally featured on Sirius XM radio.

Bursting with an unearned absurd confidence, Bates manages the balance between realism and lunacy in his act while still remaining grounded.

Sharing the mic that evening will be Indianapolis-based comic Katie Hetlage, runner-up of 2020’s Indiana’s Funniest at Helium Comedy Club. Also appearing are comic Alex Eakin and host Brian Pitre.

Seating for this event is extremely limited with a total of 40 tickets available for purchase. You can get yours now via Eventbrite.

Taylor in Van Wert

Our beloved Sunny Taylor will be heading to Van Wert, Ohio, on Saturday, Oct. 3, to perform from 2-4 p.m. at an event called Fallin’ Into Fun.

Presented by the Van Wert Peony Festival, this event will take place at Fountain Park from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and will feature some good old retail therapy with an array of local vendors selling their goods.

In addition, there will be children’s activities in the park, Gear Head’s Expo car show, auction, raffle, and a performance by Will Freed at 7 p.m. Fallin’ Into Fun is free to the public.

Drag Queen Bingo

Here is one you don’t hear every day: Drag Queen Bingo. That is right, on the last Sunday of every month, West Central Coffee at 1006 Broadway hosts this hour-long event at 4 p.m.

Although it is mostly for fun, there will be some silly prizes and WCC gift cards. You can also bring the kiddos as there will be at least one game they can take part in and they all get a treat.

There is no cost for the event, but tickets are required so they can make sure to keep social distance standards in place. You can sign up through Eventbrite.
