About the poll... Whatzup mailed blank nomination ballots to all advertisers and correspondents in October '99. The nominees who appeared on the official ballot printed in whatzup November through February were determined by the number of nominations they received. Nominees were restricted to artists, performers, venues and restaurants based within whatzup's distribution area. Voters were required to send information relating to the readership of whatzup with their votes. Votes received from non-readers were not counted. Write-in votes for artists and performers who did not meet the category criteria were not tabulated. Over 1,000 ballots were received by the February 17, 2000 deadline.
