Jettingham are one of a handful of bands to have escaped the tenacious pull of Fort Wayne’s bizarre gravity and expand their orbit to such faraway places as The Mall of America, the House of Blues and Detroit and to the rarefied air of the National Recording Contract.

Though largely racked among the “alternative” offerings, Jettingham are recognized by whatzup readers as the Best Pop Performer.

Originally conceived as Abraham, the band discovered that other groups around the country were calling themselves Abraham, which led to a frantic conversion during a recording session in Seattle a few years ago.

Jettingham, whose members are Dave Schmoekel, Gabe Berry, Jason Berry and Beav, proved that it’s the music not the name. After the band’s CD Neato was reworked and released by Republic/Universal Records, the first single, “Cheating” found its way to the soundtrack of American Pie 2.
